December 13th, 2008do you think its worth building a comfort to sell it?
EpicRacer asked:
i have a comfort bike frame (Trek 7300) that i bought by accident because it was misrepresented as a mtb. my friend has a bunch of extra parts (taken from a Schwinn) laying around. i can probably buy all the parts i need off of him for about $75. if i build up the bike, do you think i can sell it and make a profit off of it?

No. Comfort bikes are a dime a dozen used. Sorry.

While it’d be a fun project, you would be lucky to recoup your costs and would get nothing for you labor. A lot of people “part out” good quality bikes to increase the profit of a bike’s sale. The exact opposite of what you want to do.

sorry to hear you did not get what you thought you were buying.
However, take a look at this site:
to find if this bike may be of some use to you other than as a mt bike.
Might be a good foundation for a 29er commuter.
Don’t do a knee jerk and dump it, it might also be good for when you have visitors.
good luck
